1301.  A pair of rare brass jamb hooks with banded ball double finials. These are nicely detailed with tiny bands on the balls and are of excellent quality. The backplates are of an early design. These jamb hooks were made to match banded ball andirons and would be screwed into the wooden jambs surrounding the fireplace to support fire tools. No restoration; fine condition.
Probably American, late 18th to early 19th C.
